Bark River Knife and Tool: Bravo 1

By eastr (on KnifeForums)

I have had my Bravo for about 3 months now, it has been a great hiking knife for me. The size is perfect, just rite for genral uses such as harvesting fatwood, making traps like figure 4 and takeing photos. This knife is pure eye candy. The A2 steel is extremly tough and holds an edge for longer than most other steels combined with the convex grind you have a knife that will be sharp at the end of your outing.

I made this pile of fatwood and the knife would still shave with little effort. Fatwood is aged pine that is full of resin and will blunt the edgle of lesser steels. The bravo 1 batons very well you get next to no vibration from the handle while doing this so your hand dosn't get fatiged, and makes moveing to the next task much easier.

The Bravo 1 has shaped handels with swells near the palm for added grip and confort a built in hand gaurd to help keep your hand off the blade, while the thumb ramp gives added control while doing fine work with it. The large rounded belly is great for capeing game even the small game animals. The knife was desiged by a recon group of the USMC so you know they had hard use in mind when they sent there idea to mike stewart who put his knowledge and experiance into refineing there design. What you end up with is a knife that as tough as nails soft as the air and has more looks than your favrite hollywood star.
